A whisky of notable complexity and balance, expressive of both malt character and oak maturation. The layered progression from grain to cask-derived flavours reflects meticulous blending and thoughtful maturation.
Appearance
Medium amber – unusual rose gold tones are striking and elegant – hinting at complexity.
Nose
Medium plus intensity. Malt-driven (Horlicks, porridge, flapjack), layered with orchard fruits (apple, pear), honey, vanilla and cinnamon. Secondary notes of chocolate, red fruits and wine gums, with dried fruit providing depth.
Palate
Dry in style. Oily and rich on entry, with a spreading warmth and subtle tannic grip, with flavours of cherries, wine gums and chocolate. Malty cereals, vanilla and gentle spice follow, balanced by orchard fruits and honey. Medium plus intensity throughout.
Finish
Medium plus length. Cherries, malt and subtle dry wood linger, leaving a softness on the palate with red fruit echo lingers once the spirit has left the mouth.
